Plus, being in a big market, the Mets have more room to take risks than a small market team. The Yankees make mistakes all the time that would crush other teams — A.J. Burnett, Kei Igawa, and Alex Rodriguez’ contract is going to look awful soon if it doesn’t already — but they can outspend their mistakes. You can take different risks in the big market. I think these guys are smart enough to figure it out.

I think that James misses the major point. That is, the Mets finally have a front office that thinks strategically.
