I really want to come up with a backstory about why Josh Thole needed to travel back in time to 1993 and become a middling relief pitcher, only to meet himself again in 2011, but I can’t come up with one. And I’m not just saying “I can’t come up with one” just to say it. I’ve spent chunks of time today thinking about this, and honestly cannot come up with a good reason that makes sense or doesn’t devolve into a paradox. I never could have written The Terminator.
